Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre supports the Faith, Academic, Community and Extra Curricular programs of Loreto Normanhurst. It is central to the School's innovative pedagogy and provides a supportive learning environment where each student is encouraged to fulfill her academic and personal potential.

The LRC provides access to the school's extensive resource collection, information communication technologies and wireless connectivity in a comfortable, air-conditioned teaching and learning centre. The purpose-built facility includes research areas, private seminar rooms, ICT labs, senior study mezzanine, and 150 seat lecture theatre. It offers independent and collaborative learning spaces with restful views of the school grounds and the distant cityscape.

The collection includes 42,000 print and audiovisual resources plus online encyclopedias and databases with subscriptions to some 16,000 digital magazines and newspapers. Students have access to online resources including the  catalogue from the boarding school and from home via the school portal.

"... the ability to process and use information effectively is more than a basic tool for the empowerment of school students: it is in fact the basic survival skill for those who wish to be successful members of the 21st century."
