Motto: Creating the future

Mother Evangeline Kendall IBVM was born in 1907 and joined the Institute in 1927. An inspirational teacher and art critic, Mother Evangeline contributed profoundly to the creative energy and spirit of Loreto Normanhurst from 1948 until her death in 1996.

She is remembered by several generations of Normanhurst students as a forward thinking, dedicated artist and teacher who was, in every respect, a protégé of Mary Ward. Mother Evangeline is buried in our bush cemetery surrounded by a school community to which she dedicated almost fifty years of her life.
