Kuring - gai
Motto: Many Bodies One Spirit
Kuring-gai House was established to link the present day caretakers of Loreto Normanhurst with the spirit of the During-gai people who first cared for this land. Between North Sydney and Gosford there were many Aboriginal tribes but in this particular area lived the “Gurrangai” people which phonetically has become known as Kuring-gai.
Kuring-gai was established officially in 1998 when the House structure at the time changed from 4 Houses (Barry, Mornane, Mulhall and Ward) to 8 Houses with the addition of Aston, Kendall, Kuring-gai, and Maye. This change in structure was to cater for the new vertical pastoral care system.
Kuring-gai students draw strength and inspiration from the beautiful land of Loreto Normanhurst.
