Debating and Public Speaking

At Loreto Normanhurst students are encouraged to build skills of discussion, debate and public speaking. Students from all years can be part of Debating Teams and participate in the Catholic Schools Debating Association (CSDA) Competition on Friday evenings against many other Catholic Schools in Sydney and the Archdale Competition each Tuesday afternoon against girls’ schools in the Independent Girls Schools Association (IGSSA).

Students can also participate in various competitions for Public Speaking. Some are local the Hornsby Shire competition and some are school based. Over the last few years we have held our own Loreto Normanhurst Public Speaking Event which has been most successful.
