Our History

Loreto Normanhurst has been providing a high quality education for girls since 1897, which has included both Primary and Secondary education as well as a Boarding facility for girls from rural areas.

In the 1980s, in cooperation with the Diocese of Broken Bay, the Loreto Normanhurst Primary School was closed to accommodate a proposal at the time for the establishment of a Normanhurst Parish School.  The school was not established and since this time, Loreto Normanhurst has missed having a Primary School as part of its community.

“It has long been our hope at Loreto Normanhurst to reopen the primary school. We see the joy that other schools take in having younger, primary students, and receive many enquiries from families who are seeking a Loreto education for their primary school aged children. There are many opportunities on offer at our school, and we look forward to sharing these more widely with the community,” Ms Barbara Watkins, Principal.
