Oil lamps - typical of the very many found from Roman and later periods

A woman spreads out her flax to dry along with the laundry.  A man rolls the clay roof after the rain.  Another family builds a temporary pavilion on their roof.

Nazareth, a little village in the foothills in a region called Galilee.  Jesus spent his childhood, his teenage years and a good part of his adult life there.

In Nazareth Jesus grew up knowing village life.  His mother went to the well for water and baked bread, his father worked as a carpenter.  Jesus watched the shepherd leading the sheep, the farmer sowing seeds and the vine grower taking care of the vines.
