Synagogue at Cana - the site of Jesus's first miracle where, at a marriage party, He turned water to wine

Synagogue at Capernaum, the assembly-place where people in Jesus's time met to hear religious teachers and His Falilee headquarters

The Torah scrolls were read from the bema, a raised wood platform at the front of the synagogue.

A new Torah-scroll was consecrated in the house of prayer.  Rabbi David Moshe held it in his hands and rejoiced in it.  However, since it was large and heavy, one of the Hasidim went over to him  to take it out of his hands.  "Once you hold it," said the Rabbi, "it is no longer heavy".
