Learning Resource Centre
The LRC provides access to the school’s extensive resource collection, in a comfortable, air-conditioned centre. The purpose-built facility includes research areas, private seminar rooms, senior study mezzanine, and 150 seat lecture theatre. It offers independent and collaborative learning spaces.
The collection includes 42,000 print and audiovisual resources plus online encyclopedias and databases with subscriptions to some 16,000 digital magazines and newspapers. Students have access to online resources including the catalogue from the boarding school and from home via the school portal.
The LRC is managed by the Head of Information Services, who is supported by LRC Student Services Assistants, a team of dedicated staff who work closely with classroom teachers to resource and enrich the curriculum, to integrate learning technologies, to develop innovative teaching practices and to cater for individual learning styles.
During term, the Centre is open before, during and after school including lunch and recess breaks. Extended opening hours operate Monday to Thursday evenings.
The LRC supports the students in their learning by the use of up to date and innovative technologies including the use of Overdrive and iPads.
