Sr Deirdre Browne IBVM and Kate Eastman SC, recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours

Our heartfelt congratulations to the members of our LN community who were recognised in yesterday's Queen's Birthday Honours.

Sr Deirdre Browne IBVM ('52) received a Medal of the Order of Australia for her service to community as a religious sister, and through music, education and the liturgical arts. Sr Deirdre served as Head of Music at LN from 1964-1973 and Province Leader of the IBVM in Australia from 1999-2005. She also composed our school song 'Cruci Dum Spiro Fido'!

Kate Eastman SC ('84) was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the law, human rights and to professional organisations. Kate co-founded and headed Australian Lawyers for Human Rights, and has received a Justice Award and Women Lawyers Association Award for her global career in human rights.

We are so delighted to celebrate with these influential Loreto women who have dedicated their lives to being 'seekers of truth and doers of justice.'
