From 2022, the Primary School will have three classes in both Years 5 and 6. We are delighted by this development and by the support shown by our community of our Primary School since its reopening in 2015. This decision came about as the result of the many enquiries received requesting 2022 commencement, and additional demand for entry to Loreto Normanhurst.
We have been busy progressing some minor capital works during this year to accommodate the additional streams, hiring additional teaching staff and sourcing other critical resources to ensure we continue to deliver our high standard of holistic learning for our girls. We cannot wait to meet our new Year 5 and 6 students in 2022.
In November, we were delighted to virtually host our Orientation Days for students joining our Primary and Secondary school next year. These events included virtual welcomes from our Principal, Ms Marina Ugonotti and Head of Primary, Mrs Maryanne Dwyer, as well as virtual sessions with class teachers, House groups and peers. In 2022, we have the biggest intake of Year 7 boarders since 2012. We look forward to welcoming all commencing students to our community in person in Term 1!
Earlier this term, we were pleased to invite current and prospective families to a City Boarding Information Evening. The evening provided excellent insight not just into what our flexible boarding model offers Sydney families, but also into the daily life of an LN boarder and the academic, pastoral and extra-curricular opportunities available to our boarders in Years 7-12.
If you would like to learn more about boarding at LN, you may like to watch the following recording of the evening. You will hear from Marina Ugonotti, Principal, Kate Kovacs, Director of Boarding, and current and past city boarding students and their parents about the benefits of LN boarding.
