The Loreto value of Felicity has been on full display over the last few weeks, as our community of “cheerful givers” came together in support of a number of important initiatives.
Led by Year 11 on a journey of awareness-raising, the school came together for Loreto Day celebrations and raised funds raised to help support the work of Mary Ward International in eradicating female genital mutilation (FGM) in Kenya. We are privileged to be able to support Mary Ward International!
Closer to home, our first ever “sold out” City Country Mum’s Weekend Away was held in Wagga Wagga. A weekend of fun and time away with friends old and new. We were so appreciative of one of our 2020 past parents who kindly and generously organised a raffle for the Bursary Fund. Raising an incredible $1,845 for bursaries, we are so in awe of the kindness of our mums in giving back to other families. While the mums who donated prizes did not wish to have their names published, please know that we are so very thankful for all that you have done, and continue to do, for our school.
Last weekend, we held the Mother Daughter Lunch at Miramare Gardens, with over 680 guests in attendance. It an event full of joy and smiles with so many of our Loreto mum’s and daughters sharing a meal (and even a dance) together. Whilst an important community event in our School Calendar, the Mother Daughter Lunch is also a fundraising activity for our Bursary Program. We acknowledge with gratitude those who generously donated a prize and to everyone that purchased a raffle ticket – your generosity raised just over $10,500!

Today, we have over 90 Loreto fathers and friends gathering at the Union Hotel for an inaugural event, the Normo Sportsmen’s Lunch. We thank and acknowledge Preston Foster, Paul Timmins and Charlie Pidcock for organising the event, with the support of Mark and Michelle Rawson who donated the auction prize. Our gratitude also extends to Simon Gillies and John Langford as our guest speakers.
We are also honoured to welcome Tessa Regan, bursary recipient and alumna from the Class of 2004 along with a special video message from her father, Mark Regan. Tessa will share her inspiring journey starting from rural NSW, and how a bursary and her Loreto Normanhurst education contributed to her career success in New York and now back in Sydney.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all our families for all that they do to support their daughters, their teachers, their community and other families at the school. Every donation, no matter the size, is important to our School and our future. Thank you.
If you have not yet donated a prize, purchased a raffle ticket, made a donation or attended an event, you are most welcome to join our community of cheerful givers through our new online donations page. We appreciate every gift and humbly and sincerely thank you.
