Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disabilities.
Read a letter from Ms Ugonotti here for more information.
Assessments are a major part of schooling, especially for our Year 11 and Year 12 students. In order for all students to be able to give their best efforts, we need to ask for assistance from the community to provide practical support as a Reader and/or Scribe for those students for whom this provision is necessary in order to better demonstrate their ability.
This provision is granted by NESA for those students who may have a medical condition or diagnosed reading/writing difficulties. To be a reader/scribe requires NO knowledge of the subject content, we will provide you with guidance on the process prior to working with the students. So, if you feel you are able to assist in this way, please contact me to register your contact details and availability. Needless to say, the more volunteers we have the less onerous the time commitment. Without your help we are unable to provide this very significant form of support for our students in need.
The only requirement is that you do not have a daughter or close relative in that particular year at the school, or are currently employed as a teacher. Please submit your expression of interest together with a volunteer Working with Children’s Check to Mrs Ann Marie Duncan at aduncan@loretonh.nsw.edu.au.
Thank you for giving this your consideration.
Year 10 parents were emailed last week to provide information and booking instructions for plenaries through the PTO System.
If you haven’t yet booked a Subject Selection Plenary, please refer to the information sent previously, which is now on Face Online. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of this opportunity.
Academic Plenaries are opportunities for students, supported by teachers, to share their learning progress with their parents and receive valuable feedback. Teachers will be available for 5 minute meetings next term on Monday, 18 July - 8.30am to 4.30pm, and Tuesday, 19 July - 3.30pm to 8.00pm. The plenaries will be held via Zoom.
The PTO Booking System will open next week on Monday for Boarding families and Tuesday for Day families. Parents will be emailed full details on how to book when the PTO system opens on these days.
We wish all students and their families a restful winter vacation and we look forward to academic plenaries on Monday, 18 July 2022.
Parents will receive an invitation to attend our next ‘It Takes a Village’ parent talk by Maree Crabbe. This will be via Zoom only. Maree is one of Australia’s leading educators on sexual violence prevention, pornography and its affects on young people. We hope all parents can ‘zoom in’ to this very important presentation.
