Semester 2 Leaders

The Primary School came together today to celebrate the gift of leadership for the Semester 2 leaders. These girls will be part of the rich Loreto tradition and will lead by example in the way they live and speak and the choices they make. The girls were called to live out the values of Freedom, Justice, Felicity, Sincerity and Verity.

Each girl then came forward to receive a blessing from Mrs Long and were presented with their badges. We concluded the service with a prayer for our Year 6 leaders. Girls then joined together in the Primary School COLA to enjoy a celebratory morning tea.

I am pleased to announce that the School Leaders for Semester 2 2022 are as follows:

School Leaders

Tayla Miller

Eliza Dale

Benedicta House Leaders

Amelia Bosotti

Adele Sperlby

Clare House Leaders

Annabel Taylor

Molly Mein

Dorothea House Leaders

Anna Ward

Milla Storgato

NAIDOC Celebrations

Special guest, Lua Pellegrini, Class of 2019

On Wednesday, the Primary School were thrilled to welcome special guest, Lua Pellegrini, to celebrate NAIDOC Week at Loreto Normanhurst.

Lua is a proud Wiradjuri woman and she read the girls a Dreaming Story, which she wrote and illustrated in collaboration with Dharug elders for her HSC Aboriginal Studies Major Project.

The girls had many questions about the writing process and her beautiful illustrations and the meaning behind them that Lua was proud to share.

Sporting Super Star – Tessa Young

Late last term, Tessa Young from Year 6 was selected to play in the CIS basketball team representing Loreto at the PSSA basketball championships in Tamworth. Her team came second with some amazing games against some very tough teams. Well done, Tessa!

Birthdays

Hip, hip, hooray and happy birthday to the following girls. We hope you had a wonderful day!
