Welcome to Loreto Normanhurst Swimming
Head Coach, Australian Champion swimmer, Bobby Hurley
Our program provides lessons and squad training for all swimmers from 4 years through to adults. Our perpetual program runs 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday), allowing swimmers to join at any time throughout the year.
We aim to offer a fully integrated all-year-round swimming coaching and training program for both Loreto Normanhurst and non-Loreto Normanhurst families. It provides:
- Loreto Normanhurst Swim Club
- Learn to Swim lessons for everyone in the local community.
- (LTS) Development Squad program to further students swimming competency.
- Fitness, Junior and Senior Squad training programs for athletes wishing to further their swimming abilities.
- Adult Squads and Aqua Aerobics for all ages.
All staff are accredited coaches and instructors to ensure you and your child can benefit from a top quality program, with constant supervision and assessment from our Learn to Swim Supervisor(s) and Head Coach, Bobby Hurley.

|Is Loreto Normanhurst a Registered Swim School?|
YES! We are registered with Swim Australia to ensure we are able to offer the best possible program for your child.
|How do I know what level to enrol my child in?|
Please refer to the Program Timetable as it explains the transfer of lesson names from the previous program to the Loreto Normanhurst Swimming Learn to Swim Program.
|What will happen to any achievements in the levels prior to starting with Loreto Normanhurst Swimming?|
We are unable to roll over any achievements from other swim schools; however, our Learn to Swim Supervisors and staff will be constantly supervising and assessing students to ensure your child can move through the levels as quickly as possible.
|Are our instructor accredited?|
All of our Instructors and staff hold nationally recognised qualifications in the teaching of swimming and water safety through Swim Australia and/or AustSwim. Our Swimming Coaches are licenced under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. All staff are qualified with a minimum of First and CPR, valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and undertake a full Loreto Normanhurst staff induction.

We accept swimmers from everyone in the community no matter what school they attend.

Head Coach – Bobby Hurley
Loreto Normanhurst is excited to announce the fulltime appointment of Bobby Hurley to Loreto Normanhurst Swimming in the capacity of Head Coach.
Bobby brings a wealth of coaching experience to Loreto Normanhurst Swimming, having been involved in the provision and development of swimming programs to Olympic level swimmers (gold medalists), as well as National, State and Age group swimmers. He has proven experience in using a holistic approach to planning and monitoring swimming performance in both team and individual athletes to achieve performance progression and has proven success in utilising strength and conditioning knowledge for planning, periodising and managing swimmers across multiple seasons and campaigns to support performance.
Bobby’s competitive swimming career is also extensive. He is a world record holder in the short-course (25 metre pool) 50 metres backstroke and 2012 World Champion in the same event. In 2009 Bobby won a bronze medal as an Australian Dolphins Swimming Team member on the 4 × 200m Freestyle Relay at the FINA World Championships in Rome. He has five FINA World Championship medals to his name, two gold, one silver and two bronze.
In 2017, Bobby transitioned into the coaching ranks where he led two South African Olympic Champions to Gold and Bronze medals at the 2017 FINA World Swimming Championships in Budapest.
