Loreto Normanhurst is excited to announce the fulltime appointment of Bobby Hurley to Loreto Normanhurst Swimming in the capacity of Head Coach.

Bobby brings a wealth of coaching experience to Loreto Normanhurst Swimming, having been involved in the provision and development of swimming programs to Olympic level swimmers (gold medalists), as well as National, State and Age group swimmers. He has proven experience in using a holistic approach to planning and monitoring swimming performance in both team and individual athletes to achieve performance progression and has proven success in utilising strength and conditioning knowledge for planning, periodising and managing swimmers across multiple seasons and campaigns to support performance.

Bobby’s competitive swimming career is also extensive. He is a world record holder in the short-course (25 metre pool) 50 metres backstroke and 2012 World Champion in the same event. In 2009 Bobby  won a bronze medal as an Australian Dolphins Swimming Team member on the 4 × 200m Freestyle Relay at the FINA World Championships in Rome. He has five FINA World Championship medals to his name, two gold, one silver and two bronze.

In 2017, Bobby transitioned into the coaching ranks where he led two South African Olympic Champions to Gold and Bronze medals at the 2017 FINA World Swimming Championships in Budapest.
