Create lasting educational opportunities for First Nations students—grounded in respect, partnership and cultural pride.
Our First Nations Scholarships reflect Loreto Normanhurst’s commitment to justice for Australia’s First Nations Peoples—guided by the Mission and Vision of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM).
These scholarships provide access to a Loreto education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from across Australia. Recipients have come from communities such as Bourke, Broome, Darwin and regional New South Wales, bringing diverse voices and strengths to our school.

For many of our First Nations students, the opportunity to attend Loreto Normanhurst opens doors that extend well beyond the classroom. These scholarships provide:
We recognise that meaningful education for First Nations students must be built on trust, cultural understanding and connection.
Loreto Normanhurst works closely with each student’s family and community to ensure that their voice, identity and aspirations remain central to their journey. These relationships are nurtured with care, humility and respect.
We are proud to partner with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) to strengthen access, support and outcomes for First Nations students.
Donate NowI’m a proud Gidya and Yangon woman from the East Kimberley, and my Loreto journey began in Year 7. At first, I struggled with homesickness and adjusting to a new culture so far from home.
But Loreto became my home away from home, building my confidence and helping me grow into leadership roles. Without the Indigenous scholarship, none of this would have been possible. Loreto gave me a deep appreciation for education, and today I’m studying a Bachelor of Education, passionate about Indigenous excellence.
I believe I wouldn’t be where I am today without the education I received at Loreto—and I hope to see many more First Nations women offered the same opportunities.”
