Term 3, 2025

• Students may begin wearing the new uniform.

• All students expected to wear the new uniform.

This is an exciting development for our School and our current and future students. The new uniform will be modern and functional to meet student needs today and into the future. Whilst additional uniform items have been added to the school uniform, the Loreto Normanhurst school uniform has not undergone a review since 1995. The new uniform reflects our commitment to excellence and tradition while acknowledging the evolving nature of education.

Yes. Since 2023, students across all year levels have been extensively consulted. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Uniforms will be available for fittings and orders in Term 3, 2025. They will be ready for collection at the end of Term 4, 2025 for Term 1, 2026 wear.

Students may begin wearing the new uniform from Term 1, 2026. They may wear either the current or new uniform, but not a combination of both on the same day.

All students are expected to wear the new uniform from Term 1, 2028, following a two-year transition period.

No. Students may wear either the current or new uniform on any given day, but not a mix of both.

Yes. Uniform policy guidelines will be available after the official launch in Term 3, 2025.

From Term 2, 2025 all current uniforms will be discounted by 30% to assist families and gradually clear existing stock.

Yes. We are working with our uniform manufacturer to provide appropriate recycling solutions for the current uniform once it is phased out at the end of 2027.

Yes. The new uniform includes core academic, core sport, on field sport, and House shirts.

The core academic hat remains. All other items, including bags and sport hats, will be updated.

Yes. The new uniforms are designed to improve quality, durability, and flexibility while being mindful of cost.

Yes. High-quality, certified fabrics have been selected for comfort, durability, and environmental responsibility. The core academic skirt fabric is suitable for both warm and cool weather.

The design process focused on comfort, fit, fabric quality, cost, ease of care, ethical manufacturing, and tradition. The uniform will feature Loreto Normanhurst colours and adopt a ‘capsule wardrobe’ approach with core and optional items for year-round wear.

The Loreto Normanhurst colours of blue, gold and black will remain a key feature of the new academic and sport uniform.

We have adopted a ‘capsule wardrobe’ approach for both academic and sport. This means students will be offered a curated collection of uniform items that takes into account changing climates, personal preference and activity levels.

It will consist of core uniform items and layering options, offering versatile, fit-for-purpose items that can be worn year-round eliminating the need for separate summer and winter uniforms.

There will be compulsory academic and sport items required year-round, with additional optional items for students to choose from. While students will have the flexibility to select from the wardrobe, core uniform items will be required for significant school occasions. These days are outlined in the Uniform Guidelines.

Students, staff, parents, and alumnae were consulted through surveys and community sessions in 2023 and 2024. Extensive student consultation in 2025 informed the final designs for academic, sport, bags, and accessories.
