It’s Time to Say Goodbye: Year 12 Graduation Week

As the Class of 2025 concludes their time at Loreto, Graduation Week offered a chance to reflect on the journey that has shaped them, not just academically, but as members of a community built on care, courage, and connection. These final days were more than ceremonies and celebrations; they were moments that captured the spirit of Loreto and the values our students carry with them into the next chapter of their lives.

From the very first days at Loreto, students are welcomed into traditions that foster resilience, friendship, and purpose. This week, those traditions came alive in ways both joyful and poignant. The Boarder Farewell Liturgy reminded all of the bonds formed in the close-knit Boarding community, where leadership, generosity, and shared memories are passed from one cohort to the next.

Beyond these ceremonies, the week celebrated gratitude and connection. Students expressed their appreciation for the staff who have guided them with wisdom and encouragement through their high school years, teachers, mentors, and support staff who have shaped not just minds, but character.

One of the most iconic traditions, the Release of the Doves, captured the essence of what it means to be a Loreto graduate. It is a ritual that symbolizes stepping confidently into the wider world, carrying with them the school’s values: generosity, respect, compassion, and purpose. Amid the rose petals and the cheers of friends, students paused to reflect on their shared experiences, friendships, and the lessons that will stay with them forever. As one student said, “I’m just so happy. I’ll miss all my friends so much. I love being here, and I just love Loreto.”

The week’s celebrations culminated in the Graduation Dinner, a joyful gathering that blended laughter, reflection, and a few bittersweet farewells. It was a night that celebrated not just achievements, but the relationships, memories, and enduring spirit of a cohort who leave their mark on Loreto in countless ways.

Graduation Week is a reminder that the journey at Loreto is about more than reaching the finish line, it’s about the values students live by the traditions they embrace, and the community they help build. To the Class of 2025, thank you for your energy, your friendship, and your contributions to our school. As you step forward, the Loreto spirit goes with you, guiding you toward all that lies ahead.
