Meet our Principal

About our Principal

Ms Marina Ugonotti became Principal of Loreto Normanhurst in January 2019.

Marina came to Loreto Normanhurst in January 2015 in the role of Deputy Principal, after a substantial career as a teacher and school leader at three Catholic independent schools for girls.

Prior to joining the Loreto Normanhurst community, she was Deputy Principal at St Vincent’s College Potts Point from 2010 to 2014.

Marina has an ongoing commitment to professional learning and holds the qualifications of Master of Educational Leadership, Master of Theology, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma of Education.

With a strong commitment to her Catholic faith, Marina embraces the values of the school, the charism of Mary Ward and the Sisters of the IBVM.

Marina’s love of learning, her joy in working with young people and her willingness to serve the community are evident in her dedication and leadership of Loreto Normanhurst.

A Message from the Principal

“A Loreto education is one that liberates, empowers and motivates students to use their individual gifts with confidence, creativity and generosity in loving and responsible service for the needs of our world. Our mission at Loreto Normanhurst is to develop independent, articulate, compassionate women of integrity and to celebrate a joyous Christian faith which grows from reflection and leads to justice.”

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the vibrant, innovative community that is Loreto Normanhurst.

Through the pages of our website, we are delighted to share with you an insight into the life of our community of faith, learning and social justice.

A strong past, a vibrant present and a hope-filled future.

Proudly propelled by our 400-year tradition of educating young women of compassion and justice, our students are receptive and responsive to the needs of their times.

Our 124 years of excellence in girls’ education is built on the legacy of our foundress Mary Ward. Mary Ward was a visionary, driven by her conviction that women reflected the glory of God. It is Mary Ward's grit and her values of sincerity, verity, felicity, justice and freedom that underpin our future-focused approach to holistic education today.

As you explore our website, you will notice the inter-connectedness of our FACE Curriculum – faith, academic, community and extra-curricular. You will see how a Loreto Normanhurst education unfolds inside and outside the classroom, how it is driven both by individual passion and collaboration and how it cultivates a sense of belonging to community.

I encourage you to visit us onsite to experience our beautiful grounds and holistic facilities. You can register for a school tour here. We would really love to welcome you to our School.

As you browse through the pages of our website, I hope that you will see how we can partner with your family in educating your daughter so that she is challenged, inspired and encouraged to take her place in the world as a seeker of truth and an instrument of justice.
